I recovered after a bit and reassured him that no, I wasn’t an insurance guy nor a rev’nooer, I was simply a guy who loved trains and took photos of them. He reiterated “You sure you ain’t an insurance guy?” I reassured him again that I was just a foamer…

We wanted to write an introductory post on this blog, sort of a Grand Re-Opening. What we’d like to do is to explain what is going on here, what is planned, and what you can do to see your material published.

Let us explain what we hope to go on here. First, how about a list. The following is what we hope to cover and feature on Main Two:

Plowden Podcast

We know it’s late, on a Friday night of all times, but we thought we’d point out this radio show featuring David Plowden. We hesitate to call Plowden a railroad photographer, as he was much more than that, but he has featured quite a few trains in his photos, and he was once an assistant to O. Winston Link. Tracking locomotives around the world…

It appears our friend, UP1988, the Katy Heritage SD70ACe, is back on a west coast tour. It’s set to go on a Phoenix, AZ-W. Colton, CA manifest today. Take a peak at that red beast, west coasters.

Also, the CNW8701 went west from Proviso this morning on the Des Moines manifest, and the duo of UP 1995 and CNW8646 are still working out of Belvedere, IL on the auto train.

You Are A Conductor…Lucky You!

We’re always looking out for ways in which railroads and music meet. This may be a bit old, but it’s still a favorite. The song is by the Canadian band The Constantines, with video provided by a CSX conductor from Cincinnatti, OH, and it provides a good perspective into the life of a railroad conductor, along with looking and sounding really awesome in the process.
